Trying some new Recipes

I have found a wonderful recipe that is easily adaptable to any flavor that you want. It again is a great inspirational recipe of The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond). I am a keen follower of her recipes.

I am not sure if any of you have ever even heard of this wonderful cold and/or hot, easy recipe. It is a dump cake. You will not believe how easy and wonderfully tasty this cake is, my family also likes it very much. We have tried it twice now, both times cold, and I can not wait for the colder weather just to be able to try it warm with some pouring cream or custard.

This is all the ingredients, yes this is all you need

All you need is a cake mix, tinned filling and butter. I chose a simple white cake mix with cherry pie filling and pineapple pieces in syrup.

Pour your filling into a oven pan.
Filling mixed
Cake mix on top with cutter scattered

Cover filling with cake mix and butter
Place in oven for about 45 min to an hour
Dump Cake done

… and that is it. Yes really it is that simple.

This recipe is great for catering for big numbers or for making sure you have desert for the whole week. Though in our house this only lasts for 2 days, and then it is not necessarily eaten with supper.

I have made this same recipe with tinned peach and apricot pieces, and it is just as delicious. I will give it a try in the winter months ahead with some apple pie filling, or mixed cherry filling, ooohhh, the options are countless.

So why not give this a try and let me know what you all think.
